Follow our simple advice and your Quartz worktops will last a lifetime!

We have assembled together some really handy cleaning advice in the tabs below, this is intended for use with the Urban Quartz products as well as the leading brands of Quartz such as Belenco, Silestone, Cimstone, Caesarstone, Compac and Quartzforms – how to clean quartz worktops? Keep reading!

Each day it is advisable to perform a simple cleanse of the Quartz surface.

• Clean the worktop with warm water and use a few drops of surface cleaner or antibacterial detergent, using a soft cloth.
• Rinse the surface thoroughly with clean water and dry it using a soft cloth.
• Keep the surfaces clean and tidy throughout the day – this makes it easier to clean spillages and also heavy duty cleaning will not be required as often.

For daily cleaning that provides a better finish you can use a product like Bar Keeper’s Friend Power Spray* or Black Diamond Granite & Marble Surface Cleaner Spray*

When Quartz hasn’t been looked after properly, you will need to perform heavy-duty cleaning with a tougher degreaser product to remove any dirt, grease and grime that has built up.

Use a soft cloth to apply the cleaner to the Quartz and be sure to dry the surface thoroughly. Always follow the instructions on your cleaning product.

If you have a stubborn stain on your Quartz worktop, they can normally be resolved easily using the methods in daily cleaning or heavy duty cleaning.

However if you aren’t getting anywhere with those methods then we recommend a fine powder product such as Bar Keepers Friend Stain Remover*

What these powder products do is remove deep-set oil stains, grease and light cement grout haze from polished and unpolished natural stone. But they don’t use a grit like other household cleaners so it won’t cut into the surface.

If the polished surface becomes duller after using these, you can go back to heavy duty cleaning and apply a solution with a built in polish and protective layer.

Don’t use generic cleaning solutions such as glass cleaner, bleach or other household cleaners (unless used as a few drops with hot water)

Don’t use vinegar, ammonia, lemon or orange as cleaners

Don’t use bathroom, tile or grout cleaners

Don’t sit or stand on your worktops

Don’t store liquids, paint or toiletry products directly on your countertop.
